Healthcare Rooted in Local Trust

Elevating Our Workforce
For years, our bilingual Promotoras have been the unpaid 'Trusted Lights' navigating the Isolation Gap in rural Northern California. We don't just train volunteers; we elevate community experts into state-certified, Medi-Cal billing-ready professionals.
Honoring our CHWs and Promotores means investing in their livelihoods, not just in administration
Our Journey - Elevating the Trusted Light
2023: Lighting the Path
We initiated state certification for our very first Community Health Worker (CHW). This marked the crucial first step in transitioning our grassroots advocacy into a formally recognized healthcare profession
Born from lived experience, our founder and volunteers acted as unpaid supportive bridges advocating for marginalized families navigating the deep rural isolation of Northern California.
2024: the Framework
We extended our impact beyond our immediate borders, focusing on strategic capacity building in Solano and San Joaquin counties to share our human-centered model and lay the groundwork for regional equity.
2025: the Isolation Gap
Spotlight Hope Project officially initiated our Hub. We provided direct, culturally congruent services to over 30 families across Butte, Glenn, and Tehama counties. By serving both insured and uninsured individuals, we ensured no one had to navigate the 30+ mile gap to specialty care alone.
2025: Systemic Mentorship
We deepened our commitment through continuous workforce training. Stepping up as strategic partners, we assisted local Community Based Organizations (CBOs) in contracting for CalAIM initiatives, drastically increasing health equity awareness across our rural footprint.
2026: Honoring Our Experts
We proudly launched a fully operational, CHW-led Regional Equity Hub. Today, we are actively transitioning our dedicated, volunteer Promotora network into recognized, Medi-Cal billing-ready professionals, securing their rightful place in the healthcare system.
The Vision Ahead: Elevating the North Valley
As we look to the future, Spotlight Hope Project is expanding our footprint to become the premier Regional Hub for CHW/P/R Capacity Building across the North Valley. Our vision is clear: a healthcare system where lived experience is the foundation of community wellness, and grassroots experts are rightfully compensated.
“We recognize that in our community, the Isolation Gap does not recognize county lines.”
